Tonight was the Rock and Worship Road Show at the VBC. I've just recently really fallen in love with The Afters and they were one of the bands performing tonight and I was so looking foward to hearing them. I wasn't disappointed - they were awesome! Thousand Foot Krutch, Jars of Clay and Mercy Me, along with Matt Maher, also performed. There was definitely something for everyone tonight. :) One minute we were rocking out with fists pumping, and the next minute we were singing worship songs with hands raised all around... There were prayers and moments of total silence - confetti and streamers - strobe lights and screaming guitars. And all of it was offered in worship and to give glory to God. :)
I'll be honest and say that I didn't expect to enjoy Mercy Me as much as I did - but they were wonderful and one of their songs tonight really moved me so I thought I'd post it here before I head off to bed for the night:

I really benefited from all his words to set up this song too. I knew the song, but hadn't thought of it in that way. A great concert!
Yes, I loved what he shared about the fact that it's not just about God loving us, but that He loves us SO THAT we can glorify Him... and also the part about being beautiful because we belong to Him. Really good thoughts to take to heart...
